Grenoble Alpes’ “Health Innovation” cluster, renowned for its expertise in health technologies, is growing 11,900 jobs (9,600 in industry and 2,300 in public research) out of a total research) out of a total of 42,500 jobs in the health sector.
Comprising more than 200 companies, it brings together startups, SMEs, innovative ETIs and major industrial historically present in the region. Among the hundred or so startups, 60% have their origins in Grenoble’s academic research. These young companies offer innovative solutions for all aspects of healthcare, from diagnosis and treatment to prevention and patient follow-up.
In this issue, three local start-ups explain their innovative technologies, their links with research and their growth strategies.
> Anatoscope, a spin-off from INRIA, develops software to reconstruct and simulate the patient’s body in 3D
from medical images, with biomechanical characteristics identical to those of the patient.
> KOELIS, based on research carried out at the TIMC laboratory of Grenoble Alpes University and CNRS,
is developing an imaging platform for diganostic and focused treatment of prostate cancer.
> SUBLIMED, a CEA spin-off, is developing drug-free neurostimulation devices designed to relieve chronic pain.
